The Challenge

The client needed a reliable and efficient system to secure their boxed products consistently before dispatch. Manual strapping was time-consuming and produced inconsistent results, affecting overall productivity and potentially compromising product protection. The operation required a solution that would standardise the strapping process whilst maintaining throughput rates.

The Solution

Central Conveyors designed and implemented a bespoke automatic box strapping line with the following features:

• Line shaft roller conveyor providing smooth and consistent product movement

• Integrated optical sensors for precise box positioning

• PLC control system coordinating conveyor movement and strapping operations

• Dual strapping configuration to secure boxes at two distinct points

• Fully automated operation requiring minimal operator intervention

The system operates through a straightforward sequence: the box is fed onto the line shaft roller conveyor, where an optical sensor detects and stops the box in the correct position. The PLC then signals the strapping machine to apply the first strap. Following this, the conveyor advances the box to a second sensor position where the second strap is applied. Finally, the fully secured box is conveyed to the end of the line for collection and onward processing.
