Plastic Modular Belt Conveyors

Plastic modular belts use interlinked modules driven by sprockets. They can be a practical choice for packaged products, wet processes and production lines requiring belt drainage or replacement of individual damaged modules. The right design depends on the product and operating environment.

Belt selection: closed-top or open-grid surfaces, straight-running or suitable radius belts, and flights or sidewalls where required. We assess belt pitch, opening size, product support, temperature and cleaning chemicals before selecting the material. Food-contact requirements must be defined for the intended application.

Conveyor layout: width, length, working height, speed and load capacity are specified for your line. Straight sections, bends and inclines are considered alongside minimum product size, transfer gaps and interfaces with upstream and downstream equipment.

Frame and access: stainless steel or powder-coated mild steel construction, with side guides, supports, guarding and cleaning access designed around the process. Washdown suitability and drainage are agreed as part of the specification.

Controls and integration: variable-speed drives, product sensors and PLC control can coordinate feeding, spacing and transfers. Inspection, weighing and rejection interfaces can be included in the agreed project scope.

Maintenance: damaged modules can often be replaced locally, but wear strips, sprockets, pins and belt condition still need inspection. Our handover documentation identifies maintenance requirements and relevant spare parts.
